Pacific bluewater retailer GZ Lures, fronted on YouTube by 'Gold Geezer' Greg, has previewed one of its bigger marlin lure release weeks in months - a 15 May 2026 drop hitting the website at 4 p.m. Eastern and 10 a.m. Hawaii time.
The headline news is that two long-missing Aloha Lures are back in stock. The Magic Mullet, a drumstick-style bullet, has not been part of the regular catalogue for years despite being one of the brand's earliest top-five sellers. Both the 9-inch and 12-inch versions are dropping this week.
"This is the large one, the 12-in version. We use 12-in TTS strobes for those," the host said of the bigger lure, before reaching for the smaller version. On the 9-inch, his pitch was more practical: "You catch anything with that. But billfish, including billfish and tuna and that kind of stuff."
The rest of the Aloha drop covers a Smash Bait restock - mirrored and dichro patterns - and a fresh delivery of Bambucha lures with blue ocean and fire-tail skirt options. The host noted that the previous small Smash Bait release sold through quickly and is most likely already gone.
Marlin Magic, the brand behind GZ's all-time bestseller, is back with another colour refresh on the 12-inch Ruckus. The lure has held the number-one spot in the retailer's annual sales chart for four consecutive years, and the May restock includes the gold shell black back yellowfin fire-tail finish that has been working well into early winter.
"This has been a really popular color pattern with the gold shell black back yellowfin firetails," the host said, before naming Blue Dream on the white shell blue back, plus skipjack, olive wahoo, petrolero and Kona Classic. He confirmed GZ is working harder than in past years on keeping the Ruckus, especially the most-requested patterns, available between drops.
The genuinely new product this week comes from the Moyes Lures end of the catalogue. The Australian-made bullets have run skirt-only for most of their history, but the maker has now begun adding hair into the skirting. Two brand-new shapes hit the GZ shelves with hair this week - the small Shotgun, a cup-nose hard-head, and the small Secret, a cupped-face bullet.
"They've been doing incredibly well in especially in Costa Rica I think it was and I saw a bunch of pictures that Annie was sending me," the host said, referring to the hair-skirt Poons that have already established the new build offshore in Central America. Ono bullets in medium and small have been restocked alongside.
The Bonze Lures contingent is smaller this week, with the Here For The Party and the Punisher dropping. Anglers chasing a wider Bonze colour run were pointed back to the previous week's much larger restock.
A small Sutomu lures batch closes the new-product list - Milk Inverts in custom colours including a pattern colour-matched to GZ's Blue Ocean skirt 199. The in-house D-Flat range has also been refreshed in baby and medium with purple paint, plus ice blue offset blunt cuts and scoops. The D-Flats can be ordered as part of squid chains directly on the GZ website.
For offshore anglers who watch the Pacific marlin-lure cycle closely, the message is straightforward: this week's drop covers returning classics, a colour refresh on the best-seller and two brand-new hair-skirt Moyes shapes in the same release - one of the better-stocked Fridays GZ has put on the calendar this year.
