GZ Lures owner Cole has walked through the Hawaii-based retailer's 17 April 2026 restock, a preview that covers a heavy run of Bonze billfish lures, a fresh batch of Moyes shapes, the Hawaii store's first Amaral lures of the year and an expanded Marlin Magic range — a timely push of offshore kit as Pacific and Tasman marlin seasons ramp up for 2026.
The Bonze restock is anchored by the Ballistic, a 12-inch Power Shell signature-series lure that uses a 602-size skirt. Cole also highlighted the Jackhammer, a smaller cousin of Bonze's well-known Violator, and the ATM — a rounded scoop-face pattern that has steadily climbed in popularity since the brand released it. Cupface stock sat front and centre.
"We're big fans of cupface lures because of their ease of use and that they work great in all conditions," he said. "So, it's a great rigger bait." Alongside the Islander 12-inch cupface, the restock includes the Viper — another 12-inch cupface with a flatter taper — the Apache slant-nosed 10-inch, the 10-inch Trojan (a smaller version of the Islander) and a rare fresh batch of DLBs in flash and strobe finishes. Customer-order customs remain limited. "So it's about half and half," Cole said of the mix between signature series and custom stock.
The single Coggins shape released this week is the Kilauea scoop-and-invert, a nine-inch size named after the Big Island volcano and available in scoop and inverted-scoop face configurations. Cole used the release to flag the brand's naming system, which draws heavily from Hawaiian geography.
Moyes fans got two of the brand's top sellers. The medium J Boy and medium plunger arrive together in a colour run weighted heavily towards dark finishes. "That medium J Boy has been our number one," Cole said, noting the only season it did not top the Moyes sales list was the year Ono Bullets with hair edged it out. "That medium plunger — we've had a lot of guys with success there in like Mexico area especially."
The Marlin Magic drop leans blue. A 12-inch Big Blue leads the batch, followed by Teardrop AP heads in pink-over-white and white-over-pink, a small plunger and a mahi series in the smaller sizes. Skirted tiny blues are scheduled to follow next week. A jumbo AP Teardrop Jet release continues one of GZ's fastest-moving new lines. "Marlon Parker and those guys have been catching a ton of fish in that over the last couple years," Cole said.
The first Amaral lures of the year mark a notable restock. Brazilian maker Amaral's Jararaca shapes include the Super Jararaca (14 inches), a brand-new seven-inch size called the Arutu, the baby series and the 12-inch Jararaca, which Cole rated as the top-selling individual lure from the maker. "As far as top-selling lures go from Amaral, this is number one or number two for us," he said.
On the rigging side, GZ Lures has added an AFW copper wire range and bait springs sold in 10- and 100-packs, plus Ringer swivels from size one through five — including pre-rigged swivels on standard and red-coated copper wire. The biggest filler for many bluewater anglers is on the hook wall. After years of stocking only Fudo Gordo HD circles, GZ has taken in four BKK styles: the Monster Circle (marlin and bluefin tuna), the Monster Circle drifting special in 6, 8 and 10, the Haku livebait J-hook and the Competition Circle and Inline Heavy Circle ranges. Islander lures are flagged for a release over the coming fortnight.
